There’s a lot to celebrate at the new Celebration Centre in Frisco.
On June 20 the Celebration Covenant Church just opened its new building located at 8500 Teel Parkway.
“Churches are like restaurants,” said Pastor Keith Craft. “People have different tastes. There's a lot of great restaurants and there’s a lot of great churches. We feel like we’re providing a flavor of relevancy. We’re seeking to be relevant where people of all ages can come and experience God in a very different way than a traditional setting.”
Celebration Centre definitely provides a non-traditional setting for worship. This is not the heads-reverently-bowed-in-pews style of worship of decades ago.
The church is equipped with a 4,000 square foot stage with high definition video screens.. Craft said it has a sound system that is better than anything in Frisco.
“We believe that the church ought to be the most creative place in the universe,” he said.
The whole church is designed for people living in
the 21st century.
“We live in a generation driven by technology,” said Craft. “In Frisco, Texas we’re dealing with people that use computers every day and are used to using available technology.” |

He said the Gospel is presented in a modern way at the Celebration Centre.
The church began meeting at the Wilma Fisher Elementary School in Frisco in 2001. About 1,200 people attended on opening day in the new building.
Keith Craft is also known for his motivational and leadership seminars. He travels all over the country presenting leadership seminars with other well-known figures such as former New York City Mayor Rudy Guliana.
The late Frisco Assistant Fire Chief Gary Burns enjoyed Craft’s leadership techniques.
“When he got sick Gary told me that if the Lord doesn’t heal me I want you to preach my funeral,” said Craft.
Many Frisco citizens may remember Craft from preaching and singing at the firefighter’s funeral in the fall of 1999.
Craft said the most important thing for people to remember about the Celebration Covenant Church is that this is a church that has been built with their needs and wants in mind. “You will hear what you need to hear the way you want to hear it.”
